Dr. Alexander Wegener was a member of the regular program review mission to one of the largest projects of the German Technical Corporation. The project promotes the capacity development of the newly established local governments in Mali. The project has achieved best results in scaling up locally developed capacity building on the national level.
Support is given to the German Technical Cooperation and local aimag administrations, together with the Swiss Development Corporation, in building one stop shops in Mongolia, whereby the German assistance focuses on business-related services to support business start-ups and to strengthen ties between associations and local administration in regional economic development.
interpublic consultancy is supporting the development of a new accounting system for local government in the newly formed Republic of Nepal, a project of the Urban Development through Local Efforts Programme funded by GTZ. Support is given to the local government units in Palestine on behalf of the German Technical Cooperation and the World Bank. Issues include local government legislation, local government finance and financial management. The intention is to develop a municipal law book to compile and condense the various pieces of legislation governing the local government units and to create a common understanding of the role and function of local government in Palestine.
interpublic consultancy is part of a team of experts led by the Fachhochschule für Verwaltung und Rechtspflege, Berlin in a project funded by the German Development Corporation in the Ukraine. The task is to support the National Academy for Public Administration (NAPA) in Kiev in developing new curricula for formation and training that meet the criteria of the EU Bologna process.

interpublic consultancy has been active in Serbia in two different projects, one on clustering and networking in technology and innovation management, and later one for the Ministry of Local Government to design the legal status of municipal staff. The project in include a study of the status of municipal staff in eighteen European countries.
interpublic consultancy is supporting the development of an urban strategy for Syria's second largest town. The consultancy input focused on financial management practice, budget analysis and recommendations for future development.
